Will National Education Policy, 2020 ensure equitable and inclusive education as well as quality education at school level? Justify

Answer: National Education Policy, 2020 replaced the 31 year old National Policy on Education, 1986. It aims to achieve universal, quality and affordable education aligned with the agenda of Sustainable Development Goals, 2030.

With respect to equitable and inclusive education, National Education Policy underlined following points:

  1. To ensure access to education for socially and economically disadvantageous groups
  2. A separate Gender Inclusion fund and Special Education Zones for disadvantaged regions and groups will be established.
  3. Children with disability will be given support of educator with cross disability training, and establishment of resource centres, accommodation, assistive devices, and appropriate technology based ....
