Nilgiri Hills

The Nilgiri Mountains form a part of the Western Ghats in Tamil Nadu of Southern India. At least 24 of the Nilgiri Mountains’ peaks are above 6,600 ft, the highest peak being Doddabetta, at 8,652 ft.

Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve

  • The Nilgiri Hills form a part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve (declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2012) and form a part of the protected bio reserves in India.
