Geography of West Bengal
West Bengal is situated in the eastern part of India, sharing international border with Bangladesh, apart from Nepal and Bhutan.9 districts of West Bengal share their boundary with Bangladesh.
- The state also shares ethno-linguistic similarity with Bangladesh.
- It stretches from Himalayas in the north to the Bay of Bengal in the south.
- West Bengal stands surrounded by Assam and Sikkim in the northeast, Odisha in the southwest and the states of Jharkhand and Bihar in the west.
- The exact co-ordinate location of the state is 27°13’ and 21°25’ North latitudes and 85°48’ and 89°53’ East longitudes.
