The agricultural sector plays a vital role in Uttar Pradesh's economy, making a significant contribution. According to the 2011 census, approximately 59.3% of the total labour force in the state is engaged in agriculture. This workforce includes both agricultural labourers (comprising both seasonal and non-seasonal workers) at 30.3% and farmers at 29.0%.
