National Mission for Manuscripts (NMM)
- The National Mission for Manuscripts (NMM) has successfully documented 5.2 million manuscripts with ancient scripts.
- The initiative is facilitated through the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Culture.
- Manuscripts from all Indian languages, including Tamil, have been systematically documented.
- In particular, the NMM has recorded 1,79,815 manuscripts in the Tamil language and 1,83,757 manuscripts in Tamil Script since its establishment.
