Schemes for Senior Citizens
- The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment implements the Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana (AVYAY) to address the needs of senior citizens.
- Integrated Programme for Senior Citizens (IPSrC) provides grants to NGOs/voluntary organisations for operating Senior Citizens Homes and Continuous Care Homes, offering free shelter, nutrition, healthcare, and entertainment.
- Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) aids senior citizens with a monthly income below Rs. 15,000 and suffering from age-related disabilities, providing physical aids and assisted living devices. Implemented through the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation (ALIMCO).
- National Program for Healthcare of the Elderly (NPHCE), launched in 2010-11, addresses health issues of the elderly.
