SEBI Introduces Standard Reporting Format for RAs and Pas

On 9th August 2024, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) introduced a standardized reporting format for Research Analysts (RAs) and Proxy Advisers (PAs) as part of its regulatory framework under the RA Regulations.
- The Research Analyst Administration and Supervisory Body (RAASB) has been designated by SEBI for overseeing the administration and supervision of RAs under the new regulations.
- Proxy Advisers (PAs), registered under the RA norms, will also be supervised by RAASB.
- SEBI's consultation paper reveals plans to implement a standardized format for periodic reporting by RAs and PAs.
- The new reporting format has been developed based on recommendations from the Industry Standards Forum (ISF) for both RAs and PAs.
- The standardized format aims to streamline the submission of information related to the activities of RAs and PAs.
- SEBI has invited public comments on the proposed reporting format, with feedback due by August 30.
- RAs and PAs will be required to submit their periodic reports for half-yearly periods ending on September 30 and March 31 of each financial year.
