Aman Sehrawat

On 9th August, 2024, Aman Sehrawat made history as India's youngest Olympic medallist, clinching a bronze in the 57kg freestyle wrestling category at the Paris 2024 Games, just weeks after his 21st birthday.

Sehrawat, who celebrated his 21st birthday on July 16, secured a decisive 13-5 victory over Puerto Rico’s Darian Cruz to win the bronze medal.
Previously, P V Sindhu held the record as India's youngest Olympic medallist with silver at the 2016 Rio Games at age 21 years and 14 days.
Sehrawat’s victory marks India's sixth medal at the Paris Games, contributing to a total of one silver and five bronze, approaching the Tokyo Games' record of seven medals.
Sehrawat is the only Indian male wrestler to qualify for Paris 2024 and has maintained India’s unbroken streak of winning wrestling medals since 2008.
Despite high expectations, other Indian wrestlers like Antim Panghal, Anshu Malik, and Nisha Dahiya did not reach the medal rounds, while Vinesh Phogat faced controversy over a weight-related disqualification.
