Panchayats
- Rajasthan has a three-tier system of Panchayati Raj. Rajasthan was the first state to impose the two-child norm as a condition for standing in elections.
- Rajasthan is also the first state in the country to fix a minimum educational qualification for contesting elections to Panchayati Raj institutions.
- However, this amendment was superseded by another amendment in the year 2019.
- Fifteen states, including Rajasthan, have enacted a law for 50% reservation for women in Panchayati Raj institutions.
