Critically analyse the significance of continuous use of Official Secrets act post the enactment of RTI Act 2005.
Answer: The first Indian official secrets act was enacted in 1889 to muzzle the voice of nationalist publications. Subsequently is was amended during the time of Lord Curzon( 1899-1904) in 1904 and made more stringent. The Indian official secrets act of 1923 replaced it and is being uses till now act with certain requisite amendments.
