A civil Servant is expected to be objective as well as compassionate. Explain how it is possible to fit into these criteria with suitable examples.
Answer: Objectivity is the principle which implies that decisions and actions should be rational and based on observable facts instead of emotions or personal prejudices. Compassion is the understanding or empathy for the suffering of others. This is a feeling that gives rise to a desire to help others and alleviate their suffering. Although these two qualities appear antithetical but in essence they work in unison as can be substantiated by following examples.
