  • As per Census 2011, the share of children (0-6 years) accounts 13% of the total population in the Country.

  • Under 5 Mortality Rate: 35/1000

Schemes & Programs

Child Protection Services (CPS): Child Protection Services Scheme under the Mission Vatsalya scheme (erstwhile Integrated Child Protection Scheme) is being implemented since 2009-10 for supporting the children in difficult circumstances.

  • Under the scheme institutional care is provided through Child Care Institutes (CCIs), as a rehabilitative measure.
