India’s Rank on Global Power Index: According to the Global Power Index, the Indian defence sector ranks fourth in terms of firepower with a score of 0.0979 (with 0.0 being the perfect score).

Defence Budget: India is one of the world’s biggest defense spenders with a total outlay of Rs. 5.25 lakh crore (US$ 66 billion), accounting for 13.31% of the total budget and indicating an increase over the budget estimates of 2021-22 by Rs. 46,970 crore (US$ 5.9 billion).
