Section 69(A) of the Information Technology Act, 2000
On 20th July, 2023, the Centre asked Twitter and other social media platforms to take down the video showing violence against two women from the Kuki-Zomi community in the Manipur.
- The action is being taken under the Section 69(A) of the Information Technology (IT) Act, 2000.
About Section 69(A)
- It confers on the Central and State governments the power to issue directions “to intercept, monitor or decrypt any information generated, transmitted, received or stored in any computer resource”.
