Answer: Women make up 14.44 per cent of the Lok Sabha, according to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, of which India is a member. Women make up 10.5% of Parliament (October 2021). The national average for women MLAs in all Indian state assemblies is a pitiful 9%. In 75 years of independence, women's Lok Sabha representation hasn't risen 10%.
