The key highlights of the Act are:
- A written agreement to be signed between landlord and tenant.
- Caps security deposit.
- Specifies conditions for eviction of tenant.
- Establishes three-tier quasi-judicial dispute adjudication mechanism consisting of Rent Authority, Rent Court, and Rent Tribunal.
However, it fails to address all the issues related to rental housing as-
