Answer: The slow resolution of economic and commercial cases is one of the biggest stumbling blocks in reviving the investment cycle in the country. This is not surprisinggiven the 3.5 crore cases pending in the judicial system. Much of the problem is concentrated in the district and subordinate courts.

Challenges

  1. Pendency: Out of total 3.53 crore pending cases, District and Subordinate courts (D&S courts) account for 87.54 per cent of them.
