Skill India Programme
In February 2025, the Union Cabinet approved the continuation and restructuring of the Skill India Programme (SIP) until 2026, with a total outlay of Rs. 8,800 crore (2022-23 to 2025-26).
Key Features of Skill India Programme
- Integration of PMKVY 4.0, PM-NAPS, and JSS Scheme under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
- Certifications mapped to DigiLocker and the National Credit Framework (NCrF) for seamless credentialing.
Sub-Schemes under SIP
- PMKVY 4.0: Offers NSQF-aligned training through Short-Term Training (STT) and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for 15-59 years, with 400+ courses in AI, 5G, Cybersecurity, Green Hydrogen, and Drones.
