Maha Kumbh Mela 2025
The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, one of the world's largest religious gatherings, was held in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26, 2025.
- The Kumbh Mela is the largest peaceful congregation of pilgrims, where participants take a holy dip in sacred rivers. The event rotates among four locations:
- Haridwar – Banks of the Ganges River
- Ujjain – Banks of the Shipra River
- Nashik – Banks of the Godavari (Dakshin Ganga)
- Prayagraj – Confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati
- Additionally, Magh Kumbh is celebrated annually in Prayagraj during the Hindu month of Magh (January-February).
