Canada Ends Fast-Track SDS Visa Program for Indian Students
Canada has terminated the Student Direct Stream (SDS) visa program, effective November 11, 2024, affecting students from India and 13 other countries.
About SDS
- Launched in 2018 for faster visa processing (20 days) for students from select countries.
- In 2023, 60% of Indian applicants used SDS with a 70% approval rate (vs. 10% for regular applications).
