Bhuvan Panchayat and National Database for Emergency Management
On 28th June 2024, the Union Government launched two geo-portals—Bhuvan Panchayat (Ver. 4.0) and National Database for Emergency Management (NDEM Ver. 5.0) at Prithvi Bhavan, New Delhi.
Bhuvan Panchayat Geoportal 4.0
Purpose: An online platform that provides geospatial data to support governance and spatial planning, particularly at the Gram Panchayat level.
Developed By: National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), ISRO.
Features
- Enables visualization, analysis, and sharing of web map service (WMS) data.
- Generates images at 1:10k scale under the SISDP project.
Benefits
- Improves rural land records & revenue management.
- Reduces corruption and enhances transparency.
- Provides real-time data for better decision-making.
