21st ASEAN-India Summit and 19th East Asia Summit
The 21st ASEAN-India Summit and the 19th East Asia Summit took place in Vientiane, Lao PDR, from October 10-11, 2024.
- This summit also marked 10 years of India's Act East Policy (AEP).
- During the summit, India and ASEAN reaffirmed their commitment to promoting regional peace, stability, and cooperation.
Key Announcements by PM Modi
- Prime Minister Modi outlined a 10-point plan to enhance ASEAN-India collaboration, which included:
- Declaring 2025 as ASEAN-India Year of Tourism with a $5 million fund.
- Doubling scholarships at Nalanda University for ASEAN students.
- Completing the AITIGA review by 2025 to boost trade.
- Hosting an ASEAN-India Women Scientists Conclave.
- Allocating $5 million for disaster ....
