National Mission on Natural Farming
Recently, the Government introduced the National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF) as a distinct scheme to promote chemical-free farming, building upon the Bhartiya Prakritik Krishi Paddati (BPKP).
- NMNF aims to encourage farmers to transition from chemical-based inputs to locally sourced cow-based alternatives through awareness programs and capacity building.
- Natural Farming, centered around desi cow and local resources, eliminates chemical fertilizers and pesticides, emphasizing on-farm biomass recycling and organic practices for soil health and climate resilience.
- Climate-smart agriculture, a broader approach encompassing eco-friendly farming practices, aims to increase productivity, enhance resilience to climate change, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
