ISRO’s PSLV-C56/DS-SAR Mission
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched PSLV-C56 carrying Singapore’s DS-SAR satellite on July 30, 2023. The launch took place from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
- The DS-SAR satellite, weighing 360 kg, was launched into a Near-equatorial Orbit (NEO) at 5 degrees inclination and 535 km altitude.
- Developed through a partnership between DSTA and ST Engineering, it will serve Singaporean government agencies' satellite imagery needs.
- ST Engineering provides imagery and geospatial services for commercial customers.
- DS-SAR features a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) payload by Israel Aerospace Industries, offering all-weather day and night coverage with 1m resolution at full polarimetry. ....
