Answer: Land reform usually refers to equitable distribution of land among the society. Broadly, it includes regulation of ownership, operation, leasing, sales, and inheritance of Land.
The objective of land reform is to bring equity in the economy and ensure social justice by distributing the surplus lands of Zamindars to rural poor, prevent exploitation of the tenant farmers by the landlords.
Since Land comes under state list, State government enacted land reform act to ensure equitable distribution of land and protection of tenants. State provided for:
