Global Offshore Wind Alliance
Recently, at the COP27, nine countries joined the Global Offshore Wind Alliance (GOWA). The countries are the UK, the US, Belgium, Colombia, Germany, Ireland, Japan, the Netherlands, and Norway.
About the Alliance
- Global Offshore Wind Alliance was recently formed by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Denmark and the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC).
- The alliance is supported by a number of organizations which are actively promoting the offshore wind industry in their respective regions.
- Objective: To bring together governments, the private sector, international organizations and other stakeholders to accelerate the deployment of offshore wind power.
