Answer: SCO is a Eurasian political, economic, and security alliance founded in 2001 in Shanghai, China by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Currently, it has eight members China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India and Pakistan. It was established to strengthen relations among member states, promote cooperation in political affairs, economics and trade, scientific-technical, cultural, educational spheres, energy, transportation, tourism, and environmental protection, to safeguard regional peace, security, and stability and to create a democratic, equitable international political and economic order.
