India has a vast basket of living and diverse cultural traditions, traditional expressions, intangible cultural heritage comprising masterpieces which need institutional support and encouragement for their survival and propagation. Comment.

Answer: The culture and heritage of India is unparalleled in the world. The vibrancy of India’s culture and heritage can be witnessed by diversity of its architecture, sculpture, paintings, handicrafts, dance and music, festivals, and even historical cities.

But traditional art forms and traditions such as the Manjusha Art of Bihar, Rogan Painting of Kutchh (Gujarat), several tribal languages and folk working traditions such as worship of local deities is slowly degrading and is under threat due to waning interest and proliferation of artificial materials.

For these traditions to survive and flourish, it needs institutional support and encouragement.
