CAG Audit Diwas
On 16th November, 2021, Prime Minister unveiled the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) to mark the First Audit Diwas.
The first Audit Diwas was celebrated to mark the historic origins of the institution of CAG and the contribution it has made to governance, transparency and accountability over the past several years.
About CAG
Defined as the “most important officer in the Constitution of India” by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, CAG is the head of the Indian audit & account department and chief Guardian of Public purse.
