Answer: Militant nationalism to political approach though gradually developing in late 19th century, but it took concrete form by 1905. There are several factors which fueling militancy in late 19th century such as awareness about true nature of the British rule, growth of education, self-determination and dissatisfaction with the work of ‘Moderates’. However by 1905, several repressive laws like Official Secret Act, 1904 to curb press freedom, Indian Universities Act, 1904 to control universities, repressive laws under IPC i.e. section 124A and partition of Bengal in 1905 concreted militant approach to political agitation.
