Harappan Period

The Indus Valley Civilization, which is thought to have begun around 3000 B.C., is regarded as India's first urbanisation.

• Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa were the two most significant cities of this civilization, and each was situated along a river, with Mohenjo-Daro on the Indus and Harappa on the Ravi.
