Answer: Parliamentary sovereignty means that parliament is superior to the executive and judicial branches of government, and can therefore enact or repeal any law it chooses.
British Parliament is based on the principle of parliamentary sovereignty. The supreme power to make, amend and repeal law lies with the parliament. There are no legal restrictions on its authority and jurisdiction.
However, Indian Parliament on the other hand, cannot be regarded as sovereign body as there are legal restrictions on its authority and jurisdiction.
