What is Geo-thermal heat flux? How does it affect the earth’s surface?

Answer: Geo-thermal heat flux (GHF) is the amount of heat flowing outward from the interior of the Earth in unit area in unit time. The impact of this heat energy i.e., gradient varies with location.

  • The Earth's internal heat comes from a combination of residual heat from planetary accretion; heat produced through radioactive decay, and possibly heat from other sources.

Affect the Earth’s Surface

  • GHF when comes out at the earth’s surface in form of geothermal spring, increases the temperature of earth’s surface also
  • The recent research indicates that the excessive GHF from earth’s interior is responsible for the sliding ....
