Answer: Painting has always been an important part of Indian cultural heritage from the days of primitive rock painting of Bhimbetka, Lakhudiyar to painted pottery of Indus valley civilization to Gupta period. Mughals, like in so many other fields, left an indelible remark in the evolution of Indian painting.
