Answer: The Home Minister of India cited Nehru-Liaquat pact to defend the recent amendments in Citizenship Act recently. Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 grants citizenship to six persecuted religious minorities (Sikhs, Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, Christians and Parsis) from three neighboring countries (Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan).

Nehru-Liaquat Pact
