Election of 1945-46

  • Before the WWII ended on August 15, 1945, there was a general election in Britain. The election ended with the defeat of Conservative Party of Winston Churchill and now the new Government of Labour Party came into power with Clement Atlee as Prime Minister. The new Secretary of State for India was Sir Petrick Lawrence.
