Non-Permanent Member of UN Security Council (UNSC)
- India has been elected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for a two-year term.
- India’s two-year term as the non-permanent member of the UNSC would begin from January 1, 2021. It garnered 184 votes in the General Assembly that consists of 193 members. It will be India’s 8th term as non-permanent member at the UNSC.
- The UNSC is composed of 15 members: five permanent members — China, France, Russian Federation, the United States, and the United Kingdom — and 10 non-permanent members who are elected by the General Assembly. To be ....
