India-China LAC Agreement
On 21st October 2024, India announced that negotiators from India and China have agreed on patrolling arrangements along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), leading to disengagement and resolution of issues stemming from 2020.
- This development was followed by a meeting between Prime Minister and Chinese President during the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia.
- On 2nd November 2024, government of India confirmed that verification patrolling has commenced on mutually agreed terms in Demchok and Depsang along the LAC in eastern Ladakh as part of the agreement.
