Need
- Raise Economic Performance: In India, female lawmakers improve economic performance in their districts by around 1.8 percentage points more annually than male lawmakers. Considering that the average growth rate is 7 per cent, the growth premium for female legislators is almost 25%.
- Lessening of the Criminalization of Politics: Male lawmakers are approximately three times more likely than female legislators to have active criminal investigations at the time of their election. This explains the above-mentioned growth disparity.
