The space industry in India has expanded significantly over the past ten years, as have its needs, to encompass applications for television and broadband services, space science and exploration, space-based navigation and, of course, defence and security.
As part of changes to boost commercial participation in the space sector, the government introduced a new entity, IN-SPACe, in June 2020.
