Tipu Sultan
- On 10th November, thousands of people paid tributes to 18th century Mysore ruler Tipu Sultan (1750-1799) in Karnataka’s Srirangapatna on his 270th birth anniversary.
- Tipu Sultan was born to Hyder Ali and Fatima Fakhr Un Nisaas Fateh and ruled the Kingdom of Mysore from 1782 to 1799.
- He is credited as the pioneer of rocket technology in India and wrote a military manual, Fathul Mujahidin, which explains the operation of Mysore rockets.
- With his excellent organisational skills he built a disciplined and loyal army and a robust navy.He tried to do away with the custom of giving jagirs, and thus increase state income. ....
