10th National Handloom Day
- On 7th August, 2024, the 10th National Handloom Day was celebrated at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
- The date was specifically chosen to commemorate the Swadeshi Movement which was launched on 7th August 1905 and encouraged indigenous industries, particularly handloom weavers.
- National Handloom Day was inaugurated by Prime Minister in 2015 to honour the rich cultural heritage of handloom weavers.
