- Recommended: NCERT books are, in fact, the ones that are most frequently suggested for preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Exam. One of the most crucial components of the UPSC Civil Services Exam is proficient reading of NCERT books. Although there is no hard and fast rule, it is typically advised for UPSC CSE aspirants to start with the NCERT books because they help you lay a solid foundation. After reading NCERT Books, it is therefore simpler to understand the content of reference books.
