The patent system of any country plays an important role in its intellectual property framework, promoting innovation and technological progress. The primary objective of the patent laws implemented in India is to encourage innovation and technological progress by granting inventors exclusive rights over their inventions for a specific period. India should focus on strengthening its 'Intellectual Property Rights Regime' to align the patent system with the innovation and development process. This will encourage more firms and research institutes to file high quality patents.
