Havisure
- Indian Immunologicals Ltd (IIL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) has launched India’s ‘first’ indigenously developed Hepatitis A vaccine, Havisure.
- The vaccine, launched after eight years of dedicated work, underwent comprehensive studies, including pre-clinical toxicology studies in animals, phase I trials in human subjects, and phase 2/3 trials involving nearly 500 healthy volunteers across different age groups.
- Manufactured at IIL’s Gachibowli plant in Hyderabad, the focus initially is on the domestic market with a plan to produce 1 million doses annually, contributing to the country's self-sufficiency.
