India’s National War Memorial Launched
- The Prime Minister inaugurated India’s national war memorial at the India Gate complex in Delhi.
- It is built to honor soldiers who laid down their lives defending the nation post-independence and sacrifices made by Indian soldiers sent on peace-keeping missions of the United Nations, Humanitarian Assistance Disaster Relief (HADR) and counter-insurgency operations.
- The Memorial contains short descriptions about Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country.
