Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (Etpbs)
- After successful implementation of the Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS) for service voters in several States, the Election Commission introduced it in the Chengannur Assembly bypoll for the service voters.
- The system enables a service voter to exercise his franchise using an electronically received postal ballot from anywhere outside their constituency.
- The postal ballot is delivered in electronic data format to voters on a real-time basis. The voters can download the postal ballot and votes so cast would be received by the returning officer through post.
