  • The ‘Titanwala Museum’ in Bagru, Rajasthan was inaugurated to preserve the art of traditional Bagru block printing.
  • Block printing is a form of dying and coloring a fabric using wooden or iron blocks.
  • Chhipa community is famous for this artisan work of block printing.
  • Bagru is famous for its expertise in block printing and more specifically, their printing with vegetable and natural dyes.
  • Indigo, pomegranate, harda are used to obtain the natural colors and the main colors used are red and black.
  • Traditionally, motifs printed at Bagru are large with bold lines. The motifs include wild flowers, buds, leaves and printed geometrical patterns.
