New Achievement under Jal Jeevan Mission
According to the data provided by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, 12 crore rural households were provided tap water connections under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) as on 18th May, 2023.
- 100% Coverage: Five states-Goa, Telangana, Haryana, Gujarat and Punjab and three Union Territories – Puducherry, Daman Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, have reported 100 percent coverage.
- Less than 50% Coverage: However, less than 50 per cent of the rural households in nine states and union territories, including Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, have received tap water connections so far.
