Diamond Jubilee of Khadi and Village Industries Commission
On 20th May, 2023, the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) celebrated its Diamond Jubilee at the KVIC's Central Bee Research and Training Institute (CBRTl), Pune.
About KVIC
- It is a statutory body formed in April 1957, under the Act of Parliament, 'Khadi and Village Industries Commission Act of 1956'.
- It is an apex organisation under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
- In April 1957, it took over the work of former All India Khadi and Village Industries Board.
Main Objectives
- Social objective: Providing employment in rural areas
- Economic objective: Providing salable articles.
